Buy Illinois Program

CDB encourages our construction industry partners to BUY ILLINOIS. Our Directory of Illinois Products can help you find information on products manufactured, fabricated, or assembled in Illinois.  For more information please see section 00 43 30 of the Standard Documents for Construction located in our Reference Library.

We encourage you to include Illinois Products in project specifications.

Where products are typically specified by a list of three manufacturers and their product names and model numbers, consider including Illinois manufacturers whenever possible. Indicate them in the project manual with (IL) preceding the item in the specification paragraph.

We encourage you to procure Illinois Products during the construction phase of the project. Indicate them on the Contractors Schedule of Values. Instructions can be found here.

Participation in the program is not mandatory and it will not give any preference in contract awards.

In order to be included in the Buy Illinois listing, your company must manufacture, fabricate or assemble its products within the State of Illinois, and all steel used in the product must be produced in accordance with the Illinois Steel Products Procurement Act, 30 ILCS 565.  Please email the information below confirming your product meets one or more of these requirements.

1.    Specification division(s) and section(s).
2.    Product common name.
3.    Brand name.
4.    Company name.
5.    Address.
6.    Phone number.
7.    Website URL.

The Capital Development Board reserves the right to determine if products meet these requirements, and may investigate as required to ensure compliance with the intent of the program.
