Department of Natural Resources seeks Architectural-Engineering Professional Services

Announcement – Thursday, January 5, 2017
Illinois Beach State Park - Erosion Assessment
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) requires the professional services of an architectural/engineering (A/E) firm to provide a thorough assessment of the erosion problems along the shoreline of Lake Michigan at Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park and North Point Marina.

The A/E will be required to identify multiple options to minimize long term erosion along the lake shoreline. The A/E will offer a recommendation to IDNR which best meets the goals of the Department. Once this recommendation has been approved by IDNR, the A/E will develop preliminary design plans (through 30%) and a cost estimate to implement the recommendation.

Illinois Beach State Park - Utility Line Relocation
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) requires the professional services of an architectural/engineering (A/E) firm to provide design plans and specifications to re-route utility lines away from the eroding shoreline of Lake Michigan.

The A/E will be required to work with IDNR staff to identify the best option to pump and pipe sanitary wastes from the Illinois Beach Campground to the main lift station near the park office. The A/E should consider a new duplex lift station and directional boring. IDNR would also like the consultant to design a new potable water line from the park entrance to the Illinois Beach Resort and Conference Center. The new water main will provide a loop system within Illinois Beach State Park. This loop will allow site staff the opportunity to service and maintain single point water services without shutting down all water supplies within the Park.
