COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER CONSTRUCTION GRANTS

Announcement – Saturday, January 4, 2014

Pursuant to Public Act 96-37, the Community Health Center Construction Act, the Capital Development Board in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Public Health is authorized to make grants available to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and FQHC Look-Alikes for the following purposes:

  • Purchasing equipment
  • Acquiring a new physical location for the purpose of delivering health care services
  • Constructing or renovating new or existing community health center sites

The Capital Development Board will be responsible for administering this grant program.  The funding will enable FQHC and FQHC Look-Alikes to increase services to underserved and uninsured individuals and families.

A FQHC means a health center funded under section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. An FQHC Look-Alike means an organization that meets the requirements for receiving a grant under section 330 from the Public Health Service Act, but does not receive federal grants under that authority.

The application for these grants is attached including submittal dates and application instructions.  If you wish to participate in this grant program, please note that the letter of intent is due to the Capital Development Board by June 5, 2014 and the application is due July 10, 2014 and must be submitted electronically.

We look forward to your participation in this program.  If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail Erin.Eoff@illinois.gov or call (217) 782-0410.
