Reference Library:  Bid Document Template Forms

CDB has taken valuable input from the design industry and has reformatted the template forms for Division 0 and Division 1 that are found within the Reference Library on the CDB website.  Previously, a template for either Division was a large Word document that contained all specification sections within the single Word document.  This large file was difficult for designers to customize specification sections when preparing the Project Manual.  The design industry and CDB Professional Services staff suggested separate Word files for each specification section.  The separation of each specification section allows not only for ease in Project Manual preparation, but also for applying any applicable bid document revisions made by CDB.

The reformat is comprised of a list of separate Word files for each specification to be contained within a zip file.  There is now a separate zip file for each of the four templates found in the Reference Library: Divisions 0 and 1 for both Single Prime bid documents and for Multiprime/Single Trade bid documents.  The use of zip files will ensure that all specifications are downloaded by the Architect/Engineer when preparing bid documents.

Please note that the reformatting of the bid documents on the Reference does not affect the content of the documents as recently revised on May 1, 2016.  What is included on the Reference Library now is only a different file presentation of the same bid document content revised on May 1, 2016. 

CDB is confident that the design industry will find this reformatting to be very beneficial to their workflow when preparing the Project Manual.  As always, CDB encourages the design and contractor industry to share ideas and suggestions for better ways to streamline the process of designing and constructing CDB projects.
